Residential Construction Superintendent – San Clemente, CA

IJH Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced Residential Construction Superintendent to join our team and manage high-end residential remodels, additions, and custom luxury home projects throughout coastal Orange County.

We are a boutique general contractor focused on quality construction, strong client relationships, and well-managed projects. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the jobsite, understands high-end residential construction, and can keep projects moving while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day field operations from start through completion
Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and inspections
Read and understand architectural, structural, and construction plans
Maintain project schedules and identify potential delays before they become problems
Monitor subcontractor quality and verify work is being completed correctly
Coordinate closely with the Project Manager/General Contractor
Communicate professionally with homeowners, architects, designers, subcontractors, and inspectors
Manage jobsite cleanliness, organization, and safety
Identify field conflicts and work proactively to develop solutions
Maintain punch lists and drive projects through final completion
Document jobsite progress, issues, and important field conditions

What we're Looking For

3+ years of residential construction experience, preferably in a superintendent or lead field role
Strong experience with high-end remodels and/or custom residential construction
Solid understanding of framing, waterproofing, exterior assemblies, MEP systems, drywall, cabinetry, tile, flooring, and finish work
Ability to read plans and understand construction details
Strong scheduling and subcontractor-management skills
High attention to detail and quality control
Comfortable working directly with discerning homeowners, architects, and designers
Ability to anticipate problems instead of simply reacting to them
Strong communication and organizational skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Comfortable using basic construction technology for plans, photos, schedules, email, and project documentation

The Right Fit

We're looking for someone who understands that running a luxury residential project is about more than scheduling subcontractors. The right superintendent takes ownership of the project, knows what is happening in the field, catches problems early, maintains quality, and represents IJH Construction professionally with our clients and project partners.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys building, solving problems, and seeing a project through from demolition and framing to the final punch list.

Full-time position
Projects primarily located throughout coastal Orange County

Compensation is based on experience. 401(k) company matching offered
